A wildfire west of Chehalis Lake remains out of control on Monday morning, growing from 0.4 hectares to 1.4 hectares overnight. According to the B.C. Wildfire Service (BCWS), the wildfire – called the Blacklock Creek Fire – remains out of control after it was discovered on Sunday morning about seven kilometres southwest of Chehalis Lake.

Early Sunday morning, May 3, at approximately 1 a.m. a house fire broke out in Pitt Meadows. The fire was on 117 A Avenue, and spread to a neighbouring residence. One person is in custody after allegedly accessing an aircraft at Vancouver International Airport Monday morning (May 4). Richmond RCMP were called to YVR around 4 a.m. for an individual who allegedly accessed an aircraft without authorization. Police say the situation was “resolved” and one person is now in police custody. The investigation is ongoing
