Early morning house fire in Pitt Meadows

Early Sunday morning, May 3, at approximately 1 a.m. a house fire broke out in Pitt Meadows.

The fire was on 117 A Avenue, and spread to a neighbouring residence. Damage to the second house was reportedly minimal as firefighters arrived at the scene, but the first house had more severe damage.

Everyone got out of the houses safely.

There were social media reports expressing appreciation for the good neighbours in Pitt Meadows. Friends came out in the early morning hours to offer the fire victims support, including footwear, comfort for children, to control pets, and help move vehicles. They also opened their homes.

The burned out families were taken to the Best Western hotel.
