A 40-year-old reported missing last week has been found deceased.
A member of the public located an abandoned white pick-up truck near Silver Star Road in Vernon on Aug. 3.
Police attended to the scene and determined the vehicle was associated to an active missing person investigation.
With the assistance of the RCMP Police Dog Services, the body of the 40-year-old man, who was reported missing on July 30, was located a short distance away.
No criminality is suspected in the man’s death, and the BC Coroners Service is also conducting an independent and concurrent fact-finding investigation to determine how, where, when and by what means the man came to his unexpected death.
“Our sincerest condolences go out to the family and friends of the deceased,” said Cpl Tania Finn of the Vernon North Okanagan RCMP. “We would like to thank the efforts of all those who assisted with the search.”
