Maple Ridge Legion holds hoedown

A recent hoedown at the Maple Ridge Legion had people dressed to the nines in cowboy boots and hats.

Sister Todd performed live, playing everybody’s favourite western music at Branch 88, on the corner of 224 Street and Brown Avenue, on Saturday, July 25.

The hoedown theme of the dance was in support of Maple Ridge Pitt Meadows Country Fest.

“Fun times by all who attended the Hoedown at the Maple Ridge Legion. Yee Haw!! Can’t wait until the next event,” wrote the legion online.

The local legion also celebrated the 100th anniversary of the Royal Canadian Legion on July 17 with cake and lots of story telling by members.

And on July 19, a special 100th anniversary Veteran Dinner was held.

This weekend an evening of classic rock and country will be taking place with The Happy Hour Duo.

The pair will be planing songs by The Beatles, Chris Stapleton, Van Morrison, The Rolling Stones, and more.

Members can bring their dancing shoes and get their boogie on from 7 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 1, and from 2 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. on Sunday Aug. 2.
