An Amber Alert for a missing four-year-old boy has been cancelled after the child was found safe.
Following the issuance of the alert shortly after midnight on July 22, police received multiple tips from the public.
“Those tips assisted investigators and ultimately led to the child being safely located in Vernon,” West Kelowna RCMP said.
The Amber Alert was initially issued after police received a report of parental abduction.
“We would like to thank the public, the media, and our policing partners for their assistance,” said Cst. Ash Puri of the West Kelowna RCMP. “The public response to the AMBER Alert generated multiple tips that proved valuable to the investigation and ultimately helped lead to the safe recovery of the child. Everyone who shared information and remained vigilant played an important role in bringing this incident to a safe resolution.”
An investigation into the matter is ongoing.

The missing four-year-old boy has been found safe, say the RCMP.
The amber alert was cancelled at 12:07 p.m. on Wednesday, July 22.
RCMP haven’t released any other details at this time.

UPDATE: 12:30 a.m.
RCMP in Langley previously reported four-year-old missing on July 16.
Police say the four-year-old was believed to be with his mother, Alisse Andrews, and that they were last seen on July 15.
No Amber Alert was issued at this time.
However, on Monday, July 20, RCMP issued a statement that the four-year-old was found safe.
Then on July 22, BC RCMP activated a province-wide Amber Alert for the boy, reporting Alisse Andrews to be the suspect in the child’s disappearance following an investigation in West Kelowna.

An Amber Alert is being issued to locate a four-year-old boy reported missing from West Kelowna on July 21.
RCMP are investigating the parental abduction of the four-year-old and issued the alert just after midnight on July 22.
Police are also looking for Alisse Andrews who is described as:
• Age: 40-years-old
• Hair: Brown
• Eyes: Brown
• Race: Caucasian
• Descriptors: 5 feet 4 inches tall and approximately 121 pounds
The two are believed to be travelling in the following vehicle, believed to be associated with Alisse Andrews and described as:
• Black, 2021, Nissan Qashqai
• B.C. License Plate RV003L
Anyone who may have seen Alisse Andrews, or the vehicle is asked to call 911 immediately.
