“We are excited to begin a new season in Abbotsford and welcome back our amazing fans to Rogers Forum,” stated Abbotsford Canucks general manager Richard Seeley. “The passion and support from this community make the Fraser Valley a special place to play, and I am personally looking forward to my first year with the organization and the opportunity to create memorable moments together.”
The AHL regular season begins on Oct. 2, which is the earliest that the league has started since 2009. Abbotsford’s visit to Calgary on Oct. 2 will be the final home opener for the Wranglers at the Saddledome, as they move to a new building in 2027.
The AHL all-star classic is set for Cleveland and is scheduled for Feb. 7 and 8.
All 32 teams will be in action on Saturday, Nov. 7 – 90 years to the day after the first games in league history were played on Nov. 7, 1936. Representing the two cities with the longest AHL histories, the Hershey Bears and Springfield Thunderbirds will meet in Springfield, Mass., that evening. Abbotsford will host Ontario that day.
