The Alouette River Management Society has a new commemorative bench that recognizes six of the conservation group’s long serving leaders.
ARMS unveiled the hand-crafted red cedar bench that was created by the Alouette Men’s Shed.
It has been installed as a place for reflection and appreciation, and the bench honours long-standing board members who have either retired from service or passed on, leaving behind a legacy of environmental stewardship and community leadership in the Alouette Watershed.
This special dedication recognizes Ron McLean, Gerry Miller, Ken Stewart, Geoff Clayton, Mike Ilaender, and Gavin Roache. ARMS notes their decades of volunteer service helped to guide restoration projects, stewardship initiatives, environmental education, and community partnerships that continue to benefit the watershed today.
“A big thanks to ARMS directors for their visionary thoughts in having this bench constructed,” said Clayton online. “And thanks to Men’s Shed for the construction. Yes this is a beautiful commemorative bench.”
