A motorcyclist is dead after colliding with a sedan near Chase.
The incident happened in the late morning on Saturday, June 27, when Chase RCMP said first responders were called out to a vehicle collision on Highway 1 west of Chase.
Once on scene, RCMP members found the crash was between a motorcycle and a sedan.
The motorcycle driver, a man in his early 60s, had serious injuries and died of his wounds. Police say no one else involved in the incident had serious injuries, and that the driver of the sedan remained on scene to cooperate with the investigation that followed.
As the circumstances of the collision are still being investigated, the Chase RCMP is asking any drivers between Kamloops and Chase that may have dashcam video possibly showing the motorcycle traveling eastbound on Highway 1 prior to the crash to contact investigators.
“Anyone with information is asked to contact Chase RCMP at 250-679-3221. Please quote file 2026-1359.”
A highway lane was previously closed due to the investigation. The highway has since re-opened.
