A sold-out lower bowl crowd of 27,589 saw Vancouver Whitecaps FC defeat Colorado Rapids 3-1 on Saturday, April 25.
Brian White scored his seventh and eighth MLS goals of the season at BC Place Stadium, while Cheikh Sabaly added his second.
The Whitecaps extended the best start in their MLS era (eight wins, one loss, one draw), and became only the second MLS team in the post-shootout era to win eight of their first nine matches, joining this year’s San Jose Earthquakes.
For the Caps it was the last game at BC Place until Aug. 1, due to FIFA World Cup matches coming to Vancouver in June and July. They have five consecutive away matches in May, starting Saturday, May 2 in Los Angles against the Galaxy, 7:30 p.m. start (watch on Apple TV, listen on 730 CKNW radio).
