Ridge Meadows Hospital Foundation has reason to smile

The Tim Hortons Smile Cookie campaign raised $22,889 for the Ridge Meadows Hospital Foundation.

The Hammoud family, owners of franchises in Maple Ridge and Pitt Meadows, presented an oversized cheque to members of the foundation recently – proceeds from the April campaign.

Since 2017, local Tim Hortons Smile Cookie campaigns have invested more than $160,000 in patient care at Ridge Meadows Hospital.

“Thank you to the Hammoud family, their dedicated team and everyone who purchased a Smile Cookie,” said the foundation online. “Your generosity is helping strengthen health care close to home.”

Luauna McCartney, executive director at hospital, said the Ridge Meadows Hospital Foundation and Tim Hortons have both been amazing supports for the hospital.

“It really helps us buy much needed equipment, do much needed upgrades,” said McCartney.

Janine Davies, executive director of the hospital foundation noted 100 per cent of the money will be going to the foundation for two projects including renovations, site security and cameras, and medical equipment.
