The man guilty of murdering Tatjana Stefanski is scheduled to be sentenced later this year.
Two days have been set aside for sentencing of Tatjana’s ex-husband, Vitali Stefanski: Nov. 12 and 13, 2026.
He was found guilty of murdering the Lumby woman, also the mother of their two children, in June after her body was found more than two years ago.
Before his trial, Vitali pleaded not-guilty to the murder charge. He chose to be tried by a jury, which found him guilty in B.C. Supreme Court in Kamloops.
Tatjana’s body was found down a steep embankment off Mabel Lake Road, a rural logging road outside of Lumby, on April 14, 2024.
Vitali, who was found near the scene, was charged with her murder in May of that year.
His trial took place over a month, where a jury heard about fatal stab wounds to Tatjana.
