Seniors bone wellness workshop coming to Maple Ridge centre

A free, bone health workshop is coming up for those aged 55 and older in the community.

Osteoporosis Canada is putting on the presentation in partnership with the Ridge Meadows Seniors Society at the Maple Ridge Seniors Activity Centre.

The workshop will cover the basics of bone health, nutrition, and easy strategies to keep older adults moving safely and confidently.

According to Osteoporosis Canada, at least one in three women and one in five men will experience an osteoporosis-related fracture in their lifetime.

“Bone Health 101 provides a general overview about what osteoporosis is, risk factors, how to maintain healthy bone, the impact of nutrition and physical activity, and fall prevention,” said the agency online.

The workshop will take place from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. on Thursday, July 23, at 12150 224 St., Maple Ridge.

Pre-registration is required by calling: 604-467-4993.
