Maple Ridge Burrards trade for another offensive weapon in Phillips

The Maple Ridge Burrards have acquired more help on offence in a trade with the Langley Thunder.

The Burrards get Jon Phillips, who had 14 goals and 33 points in 10 games with the Thunder this season. He also put up a goal and an assist in his first game with the Burrards, ranking him 10th in scoring in the Western Lacrosse Association so far this season.

Phillips is a proven scorer, and through 75 WLA games since 2022, the forward out of Ladner has scored 108 goals and 125 assists.

Going back to the Thunder in the deal is Burrard Ethan Quinn, a defensive player from Pitt Meadows who played Junior A with the Thunder. The Burrards drafted him in the first round in 2025. Langley also gets a Maple Ridge second-round draft pick in 2027.

On Friday, July 3, the Burrards face the Burnaby Lakers in their next game, at Bill Copeland Arena at 7:30 p.m.
