Crown concluded its case in the 2024 murder trial of a woman near Lumby in B.C. Supreme Court Monday, June 8.
Vitali Stefanski is accused of second-degree murder in relation to the death of his ex-wife, and mother of their two children, Tatjana Stefanski.
The Kamloops court heard Monday details of the stab wounds Tatjana sustained.
With Crown’s conclusion, Vitali’s defence lawyer asked for the afternoon to take instruction from his client.
The case is expected to resume Tuesday, June 9.
A judge and jury have been hearing details of the case since the trial started Monday, May 25.
Tatjana, 44, was reported as abducted near her Lumby residence on April 13, 2024, on Highway 6. Her body was found the following day down an embankment off the Mabel Lake Forest Service Road.
Vitali was also found that day, and according to police officers, Vitali admitted to killing Tatjana.
Vitali has pleaded not guilty to the murder.
