Celebrate Pride at free, family-friendly fest in Maple Ridge

Festivities are a little over a week away for Maple Ridge’s celebration of diversity, inclusion, and connection.

Pride in the Park 2026 will be taking place on Sunday, June 7, in Memorial Peace Park, and there will some serious star power on the stage this year.

Kendall Gender, a finalist from Canada’s Drag Race, will be performing, in addition to with Tiffany Ann Co., also from Canada’s Drag Race.

Returning favourites will include: Kara Juku and Margaux Rita, along with Drag King Justin Abit and local performers Carrie Dawn and Scarlett Rose.

Last year close to 1,000 people came out to celebrate the 2SLGBTQ+ community.

And, even more are expected this year at event co-hosted by PLEA Community Services, Maple Ridge–Pitt Meadows Community Services, and the City of Maple Ridge.

Attendees can take part in a community art project, enjoy drag story time for kids, explore arts and crafts, join a scavenger hunt, pick up free PRIDE swag, and more.

Three food trucks will also be on site with a variety of food options available for purchase.

“There’s something here for everyone,” said PLEA event coordinator Kat Sergeeva.

“Whether you’re coming for the performances, the activities, or just to be part of a welcoming, inclusive space, it’s a day to connect, celebrate and have fun together,” added Sergeeva.

PLEA Community Services has been providing individualized, community-based social services throughout B.C. for more than 40 years.

The agency delivers residential and non-residential services to children, youth, adults, and families facing significant challenges in their lives.

PRIDE in the Park 2026 will take place from noon to 4 p.m. on Sunday, June 7, at Memorial Peace Park, 11930 224 St., Maple Ridge.

The event is free and open to all, and organizers encourage everyone to bring their friends, families, and neighbours to celebrate together in support of the 2SLGBTQ+ community.

“This annual event is free, family-friendly, and open to everyone. We had an incredible turnout last year, and we’re looking forward to welcoming even more people on Sunday, June 7,” Valerie Hutton, PLEA’s community relations and marketing lead.
