The City of Pitt Meadows will mark Public Works Week by letting kids get behind the wheels of some cool vehicles.
The annual Touch-a-Truck event is happening this Thursday, May 21, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Spirit Square (11985 Harris Rd.) Kids and their caregivers can meet public works crews, get up close to their backhoes, trucks and other equipment they use to maintain the city. There will also be free hot dogs.
Public Works Week runs from May 17 to 23 this year, and municipalities highlight the people who build, maintain and operate their roads, water systems and other infrastructure.
