Rotary fundraiser celebrates the Roaring ’20s in Pitt Meadows

The Roaring ’20s are coming back to Pitt Meadows during the 2026 Rotary Ladies Night Fundraising Gala, aptly themed “A Gatsby Affair.”

Guests are encouraged to embrace the era of jazz, flappers, and speakeasys.

Julie Gilfillan, executive director of the Salvation Army in Maple Ridge will be the guest speaker.

Money raised at the fundraiser will be going to feed hungry children in the community and also to support youth and seniors programs.

Specifically, money is earmarked for the SD42 elementary school daily lunch bag program, which feeds 500 students in 18 schools across the district.

Funds from the gala will also be going to the North Fraser Therapeutic Riding Association, which provides programs for children and adults with developmental challenges, and towards SD42 student bursaries.

Internationally money will go to Polio Plus, an immunization program for polio in developing countries.

The gala will feature gourmet food stations, both a silent and live auction, and there will be a beautiful ring and wine raffles, featured “Bees Knees” cocktails and mocktails, and a special interactive event.

Auction items include luxury handbags, sunglasses, sun hats, a Cultus Lake cabin stay, a bouquet a month from local florists, shuttle service, a flight over Pitt Meadows, and more.

A Gatsby Affair will be taking place at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday, May 27, at Swaneset Bay Resort and Country Club, 16651 Rannie Rd., Pitt Meadows.

Tickets are $150 and available from the Rotary Club of Haney at: https://iscoregolfplus.ca/event/2026-ladies-night-fundraiser-gala.
