Haney Farmers Market season starts this Saturday in Maple Ridge

It’s market season again in Maple Ridge.

The popular Haney Farmers Market is having its official opening day on Saturday, May 2, in Memorial Peace Park, and it’s forecast to be a beautiful day.

The vendors list includes 10 different farmers, bringing eggs from Happy Days Chicken, produce from Abernathy Acres and Maan Farms, flowers from the Farm Basket, meat from Reimer Ranch, and many more.

Dirty Biscotti is a new vendor among the many bakers, and Tamales Mexicanos is also new, with those who give a snack you can have while listening to live music by Sue Breton.

There is a long list of artisans and prepared food sellers with a variety of unique offerings, and The Alouette Men’s Shed will be demonstrating birdhouse building, and an artist will offer caricatures.

The market will run every Saturday from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m., and this week there will be speeches by local dignitaries starting at 10 a.m. The market runs until Oct. 31.

There is again free parking available underground at the Maple Ridge Business Centre.

The special Mothers Day Market is coming up on May 9, the day before the celebration of moms, and there will be a special lineup of artisans with gifts for the occasion, including Purely Clayful, Bath Blends, Birdhouses, Solidarity Bath and Body and more.
