A man accused of bestiality in Vernon will have his case go to trial next spring.
Seth Justin Christian, born in 1991, is charged with one count of bestiality related to an alleged incident at a Vernon equestrian training facility in January.
He is set to stand trial May 31, 2027, according to the BC Prosecution Service.
Christian was charged in March and elected to be tried by judge alone June 25.
The incident allegedly involves the assault of horses in Vernon’s BX area on Jan. 24.
The professional training facility released surveillance images of a break-in suspect who was alleged to have also assaulted several horses.
A man was arrested in relation to the incident on Jan. 26 and then released from custody pending further investigation, the Vernon North Okanagan RCMP confirmed.
A pre-trial conference has been scheduled for March 25, 2027.
The charge has yet to be proven in court.
