Pitt Meadows Museum to celebrate history with brand new festival

A brand new event will be taking place at the Pitt Meadows Museum in August.

Museum Fest will see both the Hoffmann and Son Site and the General Store Site open to the public with a variety of family-friendly activities.

The Hoffmann and Son Site will have their water wheel running, featuring a stationary engine, and a fun trivia game can be played where all the answers can be found inside the building.

Anyone who answers correctly wins a small prize, said museum curator Keagan Nagy.

At the General Store Site they will have a craft table featuring a fun little bug craft, lawn games, butter making, ice cream making, and a scavenger hunt where children can win a small prize for finding all the items.

“We are extremely excited to welcome the community into our museums to celebrate with us and spread the love of our community and its vast history. It’s an opportunity to welcome everyone back to the Museums, whether it’s been a week or years, everyone is welcome through our doors,” said Nagy, adding that they are also celebrating 25 years of the Hoffmann and Son Site being open as a public museum this year as well.

Museum Fest takes place from noon to 6 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 8, at 12294 Harris Road, Pitt Meadows.
