UPDATE (Aug. 4): A team of investigators from the Transportation Safety Board of Canada (TSB) has been deployed to Chilliwack after a crash involving two planes on Monday (Aug. 3).
According to a deployment notice from the TSB on Tuesday (Aug. 4), the mid-air collision involved two Cessna 172 aircraft near Chilliwack Airport.
Investigators will gather information and assess the incident after arriving Tuesday afternoon, the release reads.
The TSB is an independent agency that investigates air, marine, pipeline and rail transportation occurrences.

Search and rescue were among the first responders called out to reports of a plane crashing into a body of water in Chilliwack Monday late afternoon.
The incident took place around 5:15 p.m., at a location off of Wolfe Road and Skway Road, according to reports from witnesses on social media.
Fire crews reported that a plane was completely submerged when they arrived.
A landing zone had been set up, but was cancelled at around 6 p.m.
