Dozens of entrepreneurs from across the country will be heading to Austria later this year to try to spark worldwide economic growth.
A total of 40 young business leaders make up this year’s Canadian delegation for the G20 Young Entrepreneurs’ Alliance (YEA) Summit.
Among them are Abbotsford’s Janine Jivani and Saboor Meherzad, who make up half of the entire B.C. representation.
This group was put together by entrepreneurial support non-profit Futurpreneur, which is one of the founding members of the G20 YEA.
These Canadians will be heading to Europe to meet with policymakers and entrepreneurs from other countries, with a focus on encouraging collaboration and innovation for economic growth.
Groups of young business leaders will be sent by each G20 member nation, with Canada’s delegation demonstrating the country’s uniqueness, said Futurpreneur partnership senior director Micah Anshan.
The 40 entrepreneurs come from eight provinces, with half of the members being women and 75 per cent being people of colour.
“These founders are creating impact across sectors ranging from AI, technology and manufacturing, to education, health, and sustainability,” said Anshan.
“We are excited to support a delegation that reflects Canada’s regional and cultural diversity while helping strengthen Canada’s entrepreneurial connections around the world.”

Meherzad’s expertise comes in the AI and technology fields, with the Abbotsford resident serving as the founder and CEO of GrowEasy Solutions.
This company uses AI-powered software to help both independent and multi-location restaurants improve their operational systems.
“As a graduate of BCIT and Simon Fraser University, and as the founder of a local technology startup, I am honoured to represent Abbotsford, British Columbia, and Canada on the global stage,” said Meherzad.
Jivani comes from the world of health, founding and running Lilac & Leaf Wellness.
This online wellness platform provides women with various workshops, courses, and other products to help them navigate their health needs.
Joining Jivani and Meherzad on the B.C. portion of the delegation will be Vancouver’s Clinton Large and Uzzi Sultoni.
These four B.C. business founders, along with 36 other Canadian entrepreneurs, will be at the G20 YEA Summit from Sept. 16 to 18 to discuss potential methods of international cooperation among some of the world’s brightest young business minds.
