A member of the Maple Ridge Lawn Bowling Club won a provincial championship.
George Cubiss of Maple Ridge and his teammates from other clubs took the BC provincial fours championship at Gordon Head Lawn Bowling club. They are Steve Foster (Gordon Head), Brent Jansen (Oak Bay) and Dave Mathie (Juan De Fuca).
They finished the tournament with eight wins and just one loss to take the championship.
The team will now represent B.C. at the Canadian Major Championships, being held in August at the North Vancouver Lawn Bowling Club.
