The chance to chat with a police officer socially, to raise concerns or issues, or just get to know the local officers, is coming to Pitt Meadows.
The new independent RCMP detachment is inviting the community to its first Coffee With a Cop event, coming up on Tuesday, June 30.
This is an opportunity for members of the public to get to know the officers serving their community. Pitt Meadows RCMP officers, staff and volunteers will be there to connect with the public in a casual environment over a nice cup of java.
“Engaging and connecting with members of our community is a priority for us,” said Staff Sgt. Michelle Luca, detachment commander.
“Forming connections with people is at the forefront of what we do here and providing this space and opportunity for police officers, staff and volunteers to meet with people outside of the detachment or their police cars gives them the chance to get to know our people and strengthen those relationships,” Luca added. “We’re looking forward to seeing you there.”
The event will run from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at The Coffee Pitt (12528 Harris Rd.).
