Ultimate Father’s Day: 2 holes-in-one at B.C. course

It was a tee-riffic Father’s Day for two Vernon golfers.

It’s a Father’s Day tradition for Matthew Roth and his dad Brian to have a round of golf.

It was Brian’s first round of the year on Sunday, June 21, and Matthew had only played nine holes, as they took to the Hillview Golf Course.

“The round started off a little shaky, being that neither of us golf that often. We tee up on the fourth at the meadows and dad takes a perfect swing on the Callaway with his nine iron, slight draw and it went straight to the pin. One bounce at the front of the green, and dad got his first ever hole-in-one!” said Matthew.

On the sixth hole Matthew ended up losing his ball off the first shot, but Brian found a lost Callaway in the weeds that someone had taken a sharpie and written Matt on the side.

“We figured it was meant to be so I began to play that ball, hoping for some better luck,” said Matthew.

“Sure enough, on the eigth hole, I tee up with my nine iron and send my best ball of the game so far, heading straight for the pin and with one bounce she’s in.

“I get to record my very first hole-in-one on the same day as my dad. What a Father’s Day to remember!”
