Fans of the TV series Canada Shore can be on the lookout for stars from the show, as its second season is set to begin filming in Kelowna later this month.
A notice for filming was sent to Kelowna residents, letting people know that the cast will be moving into a new house in McKinley Landing, where a majority of the season will be filmed.
Canada Shore is a spin-off series of the popular TV series Jersey Shore, which blew up in popularity in 2009 and is still producing new seasons and other spin-off shows to this day.
Head of Content at Paramount Canada, Katrina Kowalski, says renewing Canada Shore was an easy choice for the production company.
“The series has quickly become a fan favourite, connecting with audiences through its unmistakable, outrageous cast who may not depict stereotypical polite Canadian-ness, but have hearts much bigger than the chaos they bring,” said Kowalski.
For those unfamiliar with the show, Paramount says Canada Shore brings together bold and unapologetic Canadian singles from coast to coast.
“They party, flirt, and turn every night into a once-in-a-lifetime memory,” reads a Paramount press release.
“But between all the hookups, full-throttle fun and hangovers, this wild crew became a family that laughs together, fights together, and supports each other.”
According to Paramount, Canada Shore brought in more Paramount+ subscribers in Canada than any other show on the network.
“The response from Shore fans to this authentic, funny, over-the-top, messy cast has been awesome,” said Erin Brock, showrunner on Canada Shore and co-chief content officer at Insight Productions.
“And the messiness didn’t end just because the cameras stopped rolling. The housemates have a lot to unpack this summer, and I can guarantee sparks are going to fly from day one.”
Black Press Media has received emails from residents in McKinley Landing concerned the show could be a potential wildfire risk.
During its first season, the cast stayed at a lakefront property on Lakeland Road in the city’s Lower Mission neighbourhood.
Canada Shore will be filming in different locations across Kelowna from June 26 until July 23.
