With a hot weekend ahead, and local lakes sure to see more visitors, the Maple Ridge RCMP is planning to be riding the waves.
The Maple Ridge RCMP boat will once again be out on the water this summer, ensuring everyone is taking precautions and enjoying themselves responsibly, said a release issued Thursday, June 11. It asked the public to plan ahead before they hit the lake or river “and feel free to say hello to our boat team on the water, dock, or beach.”
Boaters must have:
• Life jackets for everyone onboard their boat, and an operator card handy.
• Emergency supplies including paddles, fire extinguisher and lights.
• Understanding of the waterways.
• Sobriety – no boating under the influence.
