After two victorious games during their home-opening weekend at Langley Events Centre, the Vancouver Bandits are heading out on the road for three games in Ontario and one in Kelowna during the upcoming week.
And they’ll be doing it with #44 Grant Shephard, a 6-foot-10 forward – who happens to hail from Kelowna – back on the roster.
The Bandits announced Thursday the re-signing of Shephard for the remainder of the 2026 Canadian Elite Basketball League (CEBL) season.
He returns to the Bandits for a fourth season after previously spending time with the organization in 2019 as a developmental player, as well as during the 2023 and 2025 campaigns.
Most recently, Shephard played the 2025-26 overseas season with CSB Corona Brasov in Romania. His three-year professional career includes stints in Portugal, Estonia, and Sweden.
During the 2025 CEBL season, Shephard played in six games for Vancouver, averaging 3.7 points and 2.3 rebounds on .833 shooting from the field.
This will be Shephard’s fourth stint with the Bandits and fifth overall in the CEBL; his time with the club includes an appearance in the club’s first-ever game on May 9, 2019.
Vancouver is leading the western conference division of the CEBL, currently sitting with three wins and one loss out of the four games played.

Shephard and the rest of the Bandits will be taking on the River Lions this afternoon (Friday, May 29) in Niagara, then hoping to battle it out on the court with the Brampton Honey Badgers at the CAA Centre Saturday afternoon, and the Black Jacks in Ottawa on Tuesday, June 2, before returning home to B.C. – but not to Langley.
The Bandits will bring CEBL basketball to the Okanagan on Saturday, June 6.
It’s another “away” game but it’s being dubbed a home game for the Bandits.
This neutral-site matchup against the Saskatoon Mamba at Prospera Place is part of the inaugural Kelowna HOOPFEST, hosted in partnership with the City of Kelowna.
Then the team is back at Langley Events Centre, for a mid-month rematch against the Ottawa Black Jackets on Saturday, June 13. That game starts at 6 p.m.
