Maple Ridge invites foodie cyclistst to second Bike & Bites event

Bike & Bites is back for another year, as the City of Maple Ridge will guide cyclists to some beautiful scenes and good eats.

Coming up on Saturday, this guided cycling event combines outdoor adventure, scenic trails, local flavours, and community connection into a memorable tourism experience. Hosted in partnership with local outdoor adventure company Into the Wild, Bike & Bites showcases Maple Ridge’s landscapes, local businesses, and growing food tourism scene.

“We’re happy to bring Bike and Bites back after the incredible response from the community last year,” said Mayor Dan Ruimy. “The event is a great way to showcase Maple Ridge’s beautiful outdoor spaces, stunning landscape, vibrant local businesses, and growing culinary tourism sector. We’re excited for Bike and Bites to become a new local tradition to discover your city in a fun, healthy, and delicious way.”

With intermediate and advanced route options available, participants will start at Memorial Peace Park and ride through some of Maple Ridge’s most scenic routes, including the Jerry Sulina Dike Trails, with featured stops at local favourites like The Patch Brewery and Maple Ridge Park.

From start to finish, riders will get curated tastings and refreshments from local vendors like Humble Roots, Ban Chok Dee, Kim Daniels, and 2 Peaks Nutrition. The experience concludes with a waterfront celebration at Kingfishers Waterfront Bar & Grill featuring live music, refreshments, and prize draws.

Tickets are $69 plus tax per person, for the guided ride, food tastings, one beverage, a branded event t-shirt, souvenirs, prize draw entry, and a complimentary shuttle for participants and their bikes back to the starting point. Purchase tickets at MapleRidge.ca/BikeBites or on Eventbrite.

Participants will be entered into a draw for one of the curated gift baskets at the end of the route.

Bike & Bites is best suited for intermediate cyclists aged 12 and over. Guests should be comfortable riding at least 25 km in a day, have good bike handling skills, understand basic rules of the road, and be able to ride safely in a group environment. Helmets are required. Alcohol will not be served before the ride, non-alcoholic beverages will be available for riders under 19. Non-riders and families are welcome at the post-ride celebration at Kingfishers Waterfront Bar & Grill.

“Bike & Bites is an opportunity to experience Maple Ridge through its people, places, and flavours,” said Amaka George-Shobo, tourism coordinator for the City of Maple Ridge. “It celebrates the connection between recreation, tourism, and local business while showcasing the incredible experiences our community has to offer.”
