Maple Ridge, Pitt Meadows artists win big at B.C. Country Music Awards

Maple Ridge and Pitt Meadows artists came out on top at the 2026 B.C. Country Music Association Awards.

Madeline Merlo, who hails from Maple Ridge, took home Entertainer of the Year, in addition to Top Performing Album for “One House Down”.

Merlo also took Top Performing Single for “Broken Heart Thing”.

Pitt Meadows singer/songwriter Danielle Ryan won for Interactive Artist of the Year.

She was also nominated for Female Artist of the Year, and for Song of the Year for her single “Cross Your Mind”.

Maple Ridge’s Tom McKillip, who was inducted into the B.C. Country Music Hall of Fame in 2022, is nominated for the Mike Norman All-Star Band – Special Instrument award for the saxophone.

The 48th annual awards took place April 26 at the Great Canadian Theatre in Coquitlam.

Merlo hosted the gala with Chad Brownlee.
