They come for the midway, they come for the live entertainment, they come for come for 300 booths selling a huge variety of products that make home more comfortable – for all kinds of reasons people are coming to the Ridge Meadows Home Show on Friday night.
The Everything Show, as it is billed, is happening all weekend, May 1-3, at Planet Ice Maple Ridge and the Albion Fairgrounds.
The Home Show features the trade show, the Family Fest complete with amusement rides, live entertainment, and a monster foam party, psychic and wellness fair, food truck festival, and much more.
Crystal Winterton of Sugar and Spice hand made bath and body care remembers going to the long-running show as a child when it was in the downtown.
“It’s always been a good show,” she said. “I came to this home show with my parents. My product is made in Maple Ridge and so was I.
“I’m always proud of the home show.”
Many vendors come to the home show to sell products ranging from home cooling systems to patios and decks.
Others come to make contact, and that included the Maple Ridge Community Foundation. Vice president Angela Dundas noted the organization is celebrating its 50th year, and is making an extra effort to meet the public and raise the non-profit charity’s profile.
Dundas said she attends numerous home shows, and asserts “this is the most well-attended and busy show.”
Sabrina Le of Mountain Ridge Wellness noted they are at the show offering chiropractic, massage, and acupuncture treatments, building a rapport with the public.
Ink and Skin Studio was doing small tattoos and piercings in a booth at the show, meeting new clients.
There’s 300 different reasons to see the show, and that’s just inside the inside.
The show runs from 4 to 9 p.m. on Friday, May 1; 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Saturday, May 2; and from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Sunday, May 3, at 23588 Jim Robson Way, Maple Ridge.
Tickets for the inside trade show are $5 and $8 per family.
Entry to the Family Fest is free.
Parking is also free with a shuttle running from the overflow parking area at the Albion Sports Complex.
