An exhibition is opening this weekend exploring the artistic journey of one of Pitt Meadows well-known artists.
“Full Circle” will showcase artist Liz Boulton, and her range of experience paint, mixed media and hand-built art dolls.
Boulton was born in Hamilton, Ontario, and has lived in Pitt Meadows, B.C., since she was 19.
She works in watercolour, acrylic, and mixed media and builds layered surfaces using texture mediums, gels, glosses, inks, stencils and repurposed papers—including pages from books—creating pieces that balance softness with structure.
Boulton has exhibited with the Garibaldi Art Club, in addition to local cafes, restaurants and gift galleries.
She has also spent more than a decade teaching art.
Her new exhibition at the Pitt Meadows Art Gallery will capture the delicacy and strength in her illustrations and the depth and expression of her depictions of wildlife.
“Full Circle” opens May 2 with an opening reception at 11 a.m. with an artist talk about her personal artistic journey.
Pitt Meadows Art Gallery is free to enter and is open from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. from Tuesday to Sunday.
The gallery is located on the main floor of the South Bonson Community Centre, at 10932 Barnston View Road, Pitt Meadows.
