When Stuart Hood started the Glowing Hearts Canada movement, his goal was to drown out the negativity that he felt had become way too common in the world.
His solution to this overwhelming negativity was to encourage his fellow Canadians to publicly embrace what they love so much about their home and native land.
With this mission in mind, Hood has created a website and multiple social media accounts for the Glowing Hearts Canada movement, and has already received a ton of positive feedback on the project.
He said the inspiration for the name and unique goal arose from a trip to the Abbotsford International Airshow more than a decade ago, where he was emotionally moved by an airplane’s flying routine that accompanied the national anthem.
“I’ve had the idea for years to make that line from O Canada come alive,” said Hood.
“Finally, it’s happening, and the response has been very encouraging. We have big plans to spread it across the country in very uniquely Canadian ways, and want to hear from Canadians everywhere about what makes their hearts glow.”
After collecting messages and anecdotes from Canadians, Hood then reshares them through the Glowing Hearts Canada platform.
He says he’s already had some pretty notable Canadians participate in the movement, including Dave Lawrence, who played Terry Cahill in the 2002 cult classic FUBAR.
