Police are still in search of the two vehicles involved in the overnight reported incident.
In a release by the Surrey Police Service (SPS) it states that police are currently investigating reports of shots fired involving two cars in the City Centre neighbourhood of Surrey.
SPS shares that officers responded to a report of gunshots exchanged between two cars on April 25 at approximately 9:03 p.m. near the intersection of 105 Avenue and University Drive.
Upon arrival, SPS officers say they located several spent shell casings.
There are no reports of injuries and neither vehicle has been located.
The vehicles, described as a black sedan and white sedan, were reported speeding away. SPS says the white vehicle was also described as possibly having damage to its driver’s side windshield.
SPS’s major crime section has now since taken over the investigation.
SPS says detectives and other officers including members of the Integrated Forensics Identification Services, may be in the area today (April 26) in search for physical and digital evidence.
The motivation for this shooting is still currently unknown.
Anyone with information or who has dashcam or CCTV footage is asked to contact SPS’s non-emergency line at 604-599-0502 and quote file number 26-39710 (SP) or contact Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
