There is no Haney Farmers Market this Saturday (April 25), but the market is looking for vendors and volunteers for the upcoming season, which begins on May 2.
The market was part of Earth Day on April 28, but are taking a week off before a long season ahead.
The market will run from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturdays in Memorial Peace Park, until the end of the season on Oct. 31.
On May 2 there will be live music with Sue Breton at the Cafe Corner, and the Alouette Men’s Shed will offer birdhouse building. At a.m. there will an official opening with speeches.
The market has been running since 2004, and is now averaging 60 vendors each week. There will be a wide variety of products from local produce to pies, African spices, soaps and creams, hand-made bags, and all kinds of artisan goods.
The market is run by the North Fraser Farmers Market Society, which also oversees markets in Pitt Meadows and Port Coquitlam. The Pitt Meadows market runs Thursday evenings from June 4 until Sept. 24.
