Baking, bricklaying, and beyond at Skills Canada BC Provincials in Abbotsford

There was certainly no lack of skills at the 2026 Skills Canada BC Provincials, which took place in Abbotsford on Wednesday (April 15).

More than 500 high school and post-secondary students gathered at Tradex to demonstrate their respective skills through competitions that ran all day.

Thousands of community members popped in and out to watch these students hard at work, including Abbotsford Mayor Ross Siemens and Abbotsford West MLA Korky Neufeld.

Events were held across 50 categories, which ranged from autobody repair to landscape gardening, and awards were handed out to the top finishers, automatically qualifying them for the Skills Canada Nationals in May.
