Wildfire being held near Lytton off Highway 1, estimated 3.6 hectares in size

The wildfire on the Trans-Canada Highway south of Lytton is being held, said BC Wildfire Service (BCWS).

Being held means “based on fuel and weather conditions and resource availability, to remain within the current perimeter, control line or boundary.”

The blaze is an estimated 3.6 hectares in size and suspectedly human-caused.

An out-of-control wildfire has been reported on the Trans-Canada Highway south of Lytton.

BC Wildfire has confirmed the blaze is currently 10 hectares in size.

It is located at the Siska Flat 3 reserve.

Drive BC reported on X that Duncan Rd. near Highway 1 is closed, and fire crews are en route.

The blaze is suspected to be human-caused.

There are no evacuation orders in place.
