Applications are now being accepted for new youth leadership course run by the Maple Ridge RCMP.
“Youth Leadership 102” is described as an integrative three-day advanced leadership course, run by the RCMP Family and Youth Resource Team (FYRST), that includes volunteering and relevant work skills.
The program is for youth aged 15 to 17 years and 12 months, who have pre-existing leadership skills and are looking to mentor peer volunteers and gain future employment skills.
Participants will build upon existing leadership skills, receive resume support, undergo mock interviews, gain fun and hands-on work experience and mentoring, and learn from presentations from local community members.
They will have the opportunity to learn through skills-based education, and advance their leadership skills in different settings.
Certificate will be provided upon completion of the program.

The course runs from Tuesday, Aug. 11, to Thursday, Aug. 13, from noon until 4 p.m., in the Gold Creek room at the Maple Ridge Leisure Centre, 11925 Haney Pl., Maple Ridge.
