West Kootenay police looking for missing woman last seen at Shambhala Music Festival

Salmo RCMP are asking for help after a 28-year-old woman went missing from the Shambhala Music Festival.

Kayla Boisvert was last seen at the West Kootenay festival on Monday, July 27 around 2:15 a.m.

She was reported missing on July 28.

Boisvert is described as 6′ (183 cm) tall with black hair with long blonde braids and brown eyes.

She was last seen wearing a blue head scarf, oversize graphic T-shirt and multicoloured scarves.

Anyone with information on the whereabouts of Boisvert is urged to contact Salmo RCMP at 250-357-2212.

This is not the first time someone has gone missing from the music festival in recent years. Harsha Paladugu went missing in 2022. A four-day search that included over 100 search teams as well as RCMP helicopter and drone assistance located Paladugu’s personal belongings, clothing, credit card and receipts, but no other information on his whereabouts.

In 2023, a Calgary man’s body was found in the Salmo River one day after Shambhala Music Festival.
