PUBLIC NOTICE: COUNCIL CONSIDERATION OF ZONE AMENDING BYLAWS NO. 8126-2026 & 8127-2026

NOTICE is hereby given pursuant to s. 464(2) and 467 of the Local Government Act, that City of Maple Ridge Municipal Council will consider waiving a Public Hearing for proposed Zone Amending Bylaw 8126-2026; and further that a public hearing is prohibited for Zone Amending Bylaw No. 8127-2026.

NOTICE is hereby given pursuant to s. 94 of the Community Charter and s. 467 of the Local Government Act that the following proposed Zone Amending Bylaws will be presented at the Committee of the Whole Meeting on Tuesday July 21, 2026, at 9:00 am and considered for First and additional readings at the City Council Meeting on Tuesday July 28, 2026, at 7:00 pm in Council Chambers at 11995 Haney Place.

Maple Ridge Zone Amending Bylaw No. 8126-2026

Purpose: Proposed amendments to the Zoning Bylaw to implement four new zones supporting medium and high-density development in transit-oriented key growth areas including within the Town Centre Area Plan, Lougheed Transit Corridor Area Plan, and within the transit-oriented area of the Hammond Area Plan.

Maple Ridge Zone Amending Bylaw No. 8127-2026

Address: 11089 240 Street

Purpose: To rezone the property located at 11089 240 Street from RS-3 (Single Detached Rural Residential) to RM-1 (Low Density Townhouse Residential) and RUR (Urban Infill Residential) to allow for the future construction of a townhouse development with 153 market strata dwelling units and a future subdivision creating three RUR lots. It includes a sitespecific Zoning Bylaw text amendment to reduce the RUR zone’s minimum lot area from 450 m2 to 360 m2.

All persons who believe their property interests are affected by Zone Amending Bylaw No. 8126-2026 will have a reasonable opportunity to provide comments until the vote to waive the Public Hearing. If waived, Council will not be able to receive any further input on this item.

As a Public Hearing for Zone Amending Bylaw No. 8127-2026 is prohibited, verbal comments, or delegations on this matter by members of the public will not be permitted during the meeting.

The proposed bylaw(s) and permit(s) may be inspected at the Planning and Building Counter at Municipal Hall from July 17, 2026 to July 28, 2026 (8:00 am to 4:00 pm, Monday to Friday, excluding statutory holidays).
