Ridge Meadows Search and Rescue were called to help a person who injured their ankle on a trail in Golden Ears Provincial Park.
The call came in at about 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday, July 14, for the person who was hiking on the Evans Peak trail.
A ground team hiked up to the person along the trail and when they viewed their injury determined the best way to get him out was by a hoist.
Two Class D techs – one from Ridge Meadows SAR and the other from Coquitlam SAR – hoisted the man off the mountain with help from Talon Helicopters, and transferred him to the care of his family, who took him to the hospital.
The rest of the ground team were able to hike back out safely.
“Thank you to Coquitlam Search and Rescue SAR and Talon Helicopters for their professionalism and continued partnership,” said the Ridge Meadows agency online.
