Alison Evans will seek second term on Pitt Meadows council

Pitt Meadows city councillor Alison Evans has officially announced her campaign for re-election.

Evans’ announcement was celebrated at a campaign launch party held on May 30, where supporters gathered to hear Evans share her platform and officially kick off the campaign. The event brought together residents, friends, volunteers, and community supporters who are passionate about the future of Pitt Meadows.

“It was incredibly meaningful to see so many people come together to support this campaign and share in my vision for the future of our community,” said Evans. “I’m grateful for the encouragement, energy, and positivity.”

Since first being elected in 2022, Evans said her focus has been on public safety, active transportation, local economic development, and food security. She said progress has been made on all issues.

“I fought for the transition to 24-hour career fire staffing, because people deserve to know help will be there when they need it. We know this change has already saved properties and lives. Our city is safer than it was four years ago” said Evans.

Throughout her first term, Evans has remained involved in the community, including working as an emergency support services volunteer.

She has had a 20-year career as a 911 dispatcher with the RCMP.

“It has been an incredible honour to serve the residents of Pitt Meadows,” Evans said. “I’m proud of the work we’ve accomplished together, and I’m excited to continue advocating for a connected, safe, and livable community.”

She wants to protect the small-town feel, connection, and quality of life that make Pitt Meadows special.

“We were recently ranked the #1 Most Livable Small City in Canada. I think that speaks to the leadership this council has shown, the delivery of projects by staff, and staying focused on what matters to our residents,” said Evans.

“I believe local government works best when it is approachable, transparent, and community-focused,” Evans added. “I look forward to continuing the conversations with residents about the future of our city.”
