Starting 11 announced, which includes Burnaby’s own Niko Sigur and also Max Crépeau, Richie Laryea, Moïse Bombito, Luc De Fougerolles, Alistair Johnston, Stephen Eustáquio (wearing captain’s armband), Ali Ahmed, Tajon Buchanan, Jonathan David and Tani Oluwaseyi.

Alphonso Davies not included, but is expected to see action. Derek Cornelius out with muscle injury, according to reports.

Following a 1-0 triumph over South Africa in the Round of 32, it doesn’t get easier for Canada as it faces Morocco in Round of 16 action – the game is being played in Houston, Texas at 10 a.m.

Morocco is currently ranked sixth in the FIFA men’s world rankings, while Canada is No. 30.

The two met at the 2022 World Cup in Qatar, with Morocco winning 2-1.
