Expectant mothers will not be able to attend Ridge Meadows Hospital for care over the coming days.
Fraser Health has announced another maternity diversion at the Maple Ridge hospital, starting on Canada Day.
Due to a gap in obstetrician-gynecologist coverage, a maternity diversion will be in place from Wednesday, July 1 at 8 a.m. until Monday, July 6 at 8 a.m.
The health authority advises that if you are in labour or have a pregnancy concern, please call the maternity unit first, at 604-463-4111, and staff will direct you to the appropriate hospital for care.
The health authority calls the diversions temporary, and says it is dedicated to having sustainable maternity services at the hospital. July be the eighth month in which there are disruptions in care.
Fraser Health has recruited an Ob-Gyn for White Rock’s Peace Arch Hospital, which also had maternity diversions.
