Private bus flips after collision with car in Abbotsford

Four people were taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries after a private bus flipped in Abbotsford on Tuesday (June 30).

The Abbotsford Police Department said in a social media post that officers responded to the collision between a car and a private bus at Clearbrook Road and Austin Avenue at approximately 7:32 p.m.

Police say multiple passengers were aboard the bus at the time of the crash and three were taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The driver of the car was also taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

According to the department, an investigation with support from the Commercial Vehicle Safety and Enforcement (CVSE) unit and WorkSafeBC investigators is in its early stages.

The crash drew a significant emergency response involving police, fire, and ambulance personnel. Clearbrook Road was closed in both directions between Maclure Road and Blueridge Drive for a period on Tuesday night as well.
