WORLD CUP DAILY, June 29: Canada’s Round of 16 opponent will be known after 3rd match today

Canada’s historic 1-0 win over South Africa sets up a Round of 16 clash with either Netherlands or Morocco next Saturday morning (July 4) in Houston, 10 a.m. start Pacific time.

The match winner in Monterrey tonight (6 p.m. start) will decide Canada’s next opponent after Stephan Eustaquio played hero with a goal in injury time Sunday in Los Angeles, sending home the South Africans.

The afternoon game was the soccer tournament’s first playoff battle, followed by 15 more in the current Round of 32, which continues until Friday, July 3, as follows:
