Today’s only game is Canada vs. South Africa, noon start for the first playoff battle of the men’s soccer tournament.
Both teams are in the expanded Round of 32, or knockout round, for the first time.
The winner advances, the loser goes home.
With the tournament’s expansion to 48 teams for 2026, 32 teams advanced from the group stage — the top two from each of the 12 groups, along with the eight best third-place finishers.
Round of 32 is set for @FIFAWorldCup starting Sunday with Canada vs. Switzerland, the only match of the day. Noon start in Los Angeles.
