The Saw Creek wildfire near Lytton is being reported as 704 hectares on Sunday, June 21.
The BC Wildfire Service (BCWS) last updated the public at 10:46 p.m. about the wildfire of note, which was sized at 600 hectares on Saturday, June 20. They say the fire remains out of control.

An evacuation alert was issued on June 20 at 2:15 p.m. by the Siska Indian Band for Zacht 5, Siska Flat 5A, and Siska Flat 5B.
An evacuation order for the Village of Lytton was expanded on June 20 at 1 p.m. Issued by the Thompson-Nicola Regional District (TNRD) on behalf of the Village of Lytton, the order includes properties in the village and in Electoral Area I (Blue Sky Country).
Impacted properties are:
- Properties east of Highway 1, including Ponderosa Heights
- Properties south of, but not including Kumsheen ShchEma-meet School
- Any other properties, as outlined in the provided map
An evacuation alert was also expanded for the Village of Lytton and Electoral Area I on June 20 at 1 p.m. It includes all properties south of the Village of Lytton to Siska Creek.
Impacted properties are:
- Approximately 165 addressed properties in the Village of Lytton boundaries
- Approximately 2 addressed properties in Electoral Area “I” (Blue Sky Country), as outlined on the map
An evacuation alert was issued on June 19 at 7:49 p.m. by the Lytton First Nation for the area north of Klahkamich 17.
An evacuation order was issued on June 19 at 5:13 p.m. by the Lytton First Nation for Klahkamich IR 17 and Kitzowitz IR 20.
An evacuation alert was issued on June 19 at 5:13 p.m. by the Lytton First Nation for IR 18 Klickkumcheen.
An evacuation alert was issued on June 19 at 6:30 p.m. by the Skuppah Indian Band for Skuppah IR 2A and Skuppah IR 2B.
An Emergency Support Services Reception Centre for evacuees is set up at the Battlefield Community Hall at at 1756 Battlefield Road on Lytton First Nation. A reception centre is also active in Kamloops at 1655 Island Parkway, McArthur Island Park.
As of Sunday, June 21, an incident management team was assigned to the wildfire, along with 135 BCWS firefighting personnel, nine helicopters and 47 structure protection personnel.
Their update on Sunday includes the following information.
Fire activity decreased overnight due to cooler temperatures and light winds. Crews and structure protection personnel prioritized the protection and defense of structure in the fire area.
“Fire crews and aircraft continue to focus efforts on securing the perimeter of the communities near this incident. Crews are working along the north and south flanks of the fire to suppress active fire spread where it is safe to do so and establish control lines,” the wildfire service says.
The fire is burning at Rank 1 to 3.
“Today, June 21, temperatures are expected to be between the mid twenties to low thirties and relative humidity will trend lower, meaning there is the potential for fire activity to increase throughout the day. Light northeast winds are expected today.”
DriveBC continues to note a Highway 1 closure in both directions between Boston Bar Station Road and Cornwall Road for 117 km due to the fire. They say Highway 5 and Highway 97C can be used as alternate routes.
The Saw Creek wildfire is suspected to be human caused.
