A world-class Tudor treasure: B.C. hotel reigns as Canada’s best

Another hotel in Greater Victoria is making headlines after entering a world ranking. Abigail’s Hotel in Victoria has been named Canada’s best hotel and the seventh best in the world by TripAdvisor.

It was recognized as the best hotel in Canada for the second year in a row, and is the only Canadian hotel to be included in the global ranking list.

Abigail’s Hotel, located at 906 McClure Street, is a 30-room, adult-only boutique property that has been operating since the 1930s.

It is a women-owned boutique bed and breakfast hotel that is also a heritage Tudor mansion.

TripAdvisor describes the hotel’s unique accommodation experience, which blurs the lines between a small luxury hotel and a heritage bed and breakfast inn.

They went on to describe the hotel as having a special atmosphere that blends the romance and charm of the past with the comfort and convenience of modern accommodation.

The property, situated on the edge of Victoria’s core, is three short blocks from Victoria’s Inner Harbour, within walking distance of all the major downtown attractions and restaurants.

“This remarkable achievement would not have been possible without our dedicated team, whose passion and commitment create exceptional experiences every day, and without our wonderful guests, whose support and loyalty continue to inspire us,” the hotel said in a Facebook post.

Victoria’s Magnolia Hotel and Spa also entered the list in eighth place in the national ranking. TripAdvisor described the hotel as a four-star accommodation with an excellent location, spotless rooms, and comfortable beds.

“The hotel provides personalized service, daily room housekeeping, and a significant breakfast discount. You’ll appreciate the beautiful decor, fresh flowers, and welcome bubbly. The on-site restaurant serves delicious meals, and the spa offers relaxation and rejuvenation. With curated self-guided theme trails and stunning views, it’s a great place to unwind.”
