Elementary Schools across Pitt Meadows and Maple Ridge gathered for the annual district track and field championshps this week.
Maple Ridge Secondary played host to 23 schools, including public and private institutitons, and an estimated 2,000 young athletes for the event.
The Grade 4-5 students competed on June 9, and the Grade 6-7 students on June 10. They competed in long jump, shot put and discus for field events, and on the track ran sprints, middle distances, and relays.
